What we're seeing

Bear on the Beach:
With the sun beating down on Seward all day, it was hard not to think about going for a swim. While the water is a bit too chilly for people to get into, it proved the perfect temperature for a local black bear that one of our boats was lucky enough to see coming back in from a dip. And while you wouldn't want to do it while the bear is in earshot, aboard one of our boats our passengers were at a safe enough distance to say how cute these are, as it shook the water off of its fur, and headed up into the mountains.

What's Happening in Seward

Fort Seward Days:
This upcoming Saturday and Sunday at Fort Haines, they will be celebrating the first permanent military site in Alaska, which eventually paved the way for statehood. The timing couldn't be better, as this year the festival falls on almost the fifty year anniversary of the passage of the Alaska Statehood act. If you're feeling like celebrating, why not come out on one of our tours and see firsthand the beautiful wilderness that made so many people want to live here, and that fifty years ago the folks in Washington decided they had to have as part of the United States.
